1. Who I Are

This website is operated by Connascence ("wwww.connascence.co.uk"). If you have any questions about this privacy policy, you can contact us at hello@connascence.co.uk.

2. What Data I Collect

This is a personal portfolio site. I do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or payment details directly.

However, I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. Google Analytics may collect:

  • Your approximate location (country/city level, derived from IP address)
  • Browser type and version
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Referring websites (how you arrived at this site)
  • Anonymised IP address

This data is aggregated and anonymised — I cannot identify you personally from it.

3. How I Use Your Data

The data collected via Google Analytics is used solely to:

  • Understand which pages are most visited
  • Improve the content and structure of this website
  • Monitor traffic trends over time

I do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK GDPR)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), our legal basis for processing analytics data is legitimate interests — specifically, our interest in understanding how this website is used in order to improve it.

Where I rely on your consent (e.g. via the cookie banner), you may withdraw it at any time by adjusting your cookie preferences.

5. Third-Party Services

I use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC). Google may process data on servers located outside the UK/EEA. Google's processing of this data is governed by their own privacy policy, which you can review at policies.google.com/privacy.

I have enabled IP anonymisation in Google Analytics, meaning your full IP address is never stored.

6. Cookies

This site uses cookies placed by Google Analytics. For full details on the cookies we use, please see our Cookie Policy.

7. Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. You can adjust this via your Google Analytics account settings.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of any personal data I hold about you
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Restriction — request I limit how I process your data
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Opt out of analytics — install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@connascence.co.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

9. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
